Karen Sours Albisua

A native of Mexico City, Karen moved after high school to study acting and directing at Texas State University.  Upon graduation, Karen moved to New York to study at Circle in the Square Theatre School.

TV/Film: Maria in FX's The Bridge, PBS' We are NY, Negative, Insidious, and Going Local.  NY Theater: Tennessee Williams Collected Shorts (Theatre Row, dir Matthew Lillard), Four Dogs and a Bone* (Circle in the Square on Broadway), She Like Girls by Chisa Hutchison (GLADD Award Winner, Ohio Th),  Color TVs En Tijuana (dir Cole Wimpee), The Seagull (dir Alan Langdon), and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (dir Alex Correia).  LA Theater: Handcuffed to Darkness (VS Theater) which she both produced and starred in, and Safehouse's Production of Job Interview by Jess Prosser (Electric Lodge).  

Karen is currently working in NY on Theresa Rebeck's Katie and Frank directed by Pamela Adlon at the Cherry Lane Theater produced by Animus Theater Company, with whom she has the pleasure of serving as the Literary Manager.  Spirit Animal:  Panzas, her psychotic yet lovable Mexican-born, NY raised, current LA coyote chasing English Springer Spaniel.
